Golf on Tour

The big guns return

It’s been a strange year for the European Tour so far. Cancelled events, rescheduled tournaments and even new tournaments created. The pandemic hit the Tour hard and with relatively modest prize money on offer in the past few months, many of Europe’s biggest names have been Stateside.

This week will be different, though. The likes of Tommy Fleetwood, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Ian Poulter will return for the Scottish Open following the conclusion of the big-money FedEx Cup and the U.S. Open. It should be an exciting week of top-quality golf in East Lothian. We can’t wait!

Blade or mallet?

Finding the right putter throws up a lot of questions: Putter length? Toe hang or face-balanced? And, of course, blade or mallet? As you’ll see on Tour, everybody has their own preference. But let’s put that final question under the microscope for a second.

Mallet putters

Mallets come in many different shapes and sizes, but are usually larger than blades. This makes them, generally speaking, more forgiving and are suited to a straight-back-and-through putting stroke.

Blade putters

Blades will certainly suit the eye of the traditionalists out there. Lots of golfers with an arc in their stroke opt for a blade due to them usually being toe-hang, allowing the putter to square up through impact.

Cobra ONE-Length irons

Following Bryson DeChambeau's impressive U.S. Open victory, we wanted to shed some more light on the innovative ONE-Length concept that he uses.

Cobra and Bryson have taken most golfers favourite iron - a 7-iron - and made every iron in the set that length. The benefit to you is that you'll only need one swing out on the golf course, with the loft of each iron dictating how far the ball travels.
