We hope you're safe and well and surviving another week without golf. Although we may not be able to play, that doesn't mean we can't improve or prepare our games. Here are two ideas to get you started... As there is very little to do, I have been re-discovering my old books and on the mental side of the game. In reviewing my old notes, I have found renewed confidence and belief in my game, having had the time to reflect and look back on the last year's golf. I can't wait to get back to playing with a clear vision and a positive approach to playing when we can. We can't hit any balls at the moment so that means we can't distract ourselves with technical swing thoughts either. Could this be the perfect time for you to spend some time on your own mental game? Do you know how your thinking before/during/after playing affects your golf? Have you ever considered the mental element? I would be delighted to help you gain a better understanding and give you a few tools to use when we are allowed back out. If any of you wanted to speak to me about the game played 'between the ears' I would love to have an arranged Zoom call or a Teams meeting so we can discuss a few ideas and help you develop a stronger understanding. Please send me an email to barrynewmangolf@gmail.com, and we can arrange a convenient time for us. I have also been doing a few regrips and trolley repairs during the lockdown. A lot of golfers don't get these small jobs done as they're too busy playing. If you get in contact with me, we can arrange a drop off and collection time. Stay safe, and I hope to see you all soon, Barry. |
